Online registration for the 2026-27 school year is NOW OPEN. This is the annual paperwork every family must complete before the school year begins. In addition to making sure all students, parents/guardians, and emergency contacts are correct, you will also be required to provide proof of residency. This is an annual requirement. Even if you provided proof of residency last year, you must do so again this year. New kindergarten parents who provided proof of residency during kindergarten registration must do so again now. Acceptable proof of residency documents include:

If you already have a student in the Festus R-VI School District, log into your parent portal account here using a computer or web browser on your mobile device. DO NOT use the parent portal app. When you do so, you will be prompted to complete online registration. Click “OK.” This must be completed before you can access the rest of the parent portal.  

If you cannot access your parent portal account, please reach out to Nicole Gurnow at gurnownicole@festusedu.com. Please DO NOT attempt to set up as a new family. This will create duplicate entries in the system.

Then click “Start” under the “Existing Student Registration” heading.

Follow the prompts to compete your annual online registration. Some information will be pre-filled based on your answers from previous years. Please look over that information and make any changes that are necessary. Please pay particular attention to your email address and phone numbers. If those are not correct, you will not receive communications from the District or your child’s teacher.  Pay particular attention to small typos.  As you progress through the forms, you will be able to upload any required forms including proof of residency, medical information, etc. Custody/court paperwork must be turned in to your student’s school office.

Please fill out and submit a Free and Reduced lunch application form, even if you don't think you will qualify. We want to make sure everyone who is eligible receives the benefit. Every family that submits the Free and Reduced Lunch Application form will get free Chromebook insurance for the 2026-27 school year.

As you complete each section, the headers at the top of the page will turn green.

When you are finished hit “Submit” to complete your registration.  You will receive an email confirming your submission.  However, that does NOT mean your submission has been approved.  Once it is reviewed, you will receive another email with either approval or a request for more documents.

Complete the first page.

You will be sent an email to confirm your identity.  In your email, click on the link at the bottom of the page.  After clicking the link, you will be asked to type in your name to verify your identity.

You will then be directed to the instructions page where you will click “Begin” to get started.

You will now begin filling out the registration form.  You will not be allowed to access the next page, until you have submitted an answer on the current page.  As you work your way through the forms, there will be opportunities to upload the required documents; ie: driver’s license, proof of residency, custody/court papers, medical information, etc.

As you complete sections the headers will turn green. Please pay particular attention to the email and phone number sections. Watch for typos, especially in the email address. If that is wrong, you will not receive communications from the District or from your child’s teacher. Once all of the sections are green, hit submit.

You will receive an email confirming your registration.  However, this does not mean it has been approved.  The District will review all submissions.  Once it has been reviewed you will receive another email confirming approval or requesting additional documentation.
